Warriors and Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa says he is aiming for the golden boot in the ABSA Premier league.

Mutizwa struck twice in their 2-1 win over Amazulu in the KwaZulu Natal derby on Saturday which moved them to seventh position on the log and earned him the man of the match accolade.

The star is now second on the top goal scorers list with 11 goals, three goals behind Orlando Pirates’ Frank Mhango.

“I am happy that I scored a brace and helped my team take three points.

“With eight games to go anything is possible if I keep up my good form. I might end up taking the golden boot.

“I just need to keep on with the form that I have in and to keep putting that extra effort and working harder and I think it’s achievable. The golden boot is my aim,” he said.

He added:

“I’m enjoying my stay here especially with the form I am in right now.

“I just want to continue doing well and help my team achieve its targets.”

The former Highlanders man also shared his thoughts on the upcoming Warriors back to back match against Algeria in March in the AFCON qualifiers match.

“It’s going to be a tough game but as you know we have so much talent in our team so on a good day we can win this match.

“Football is all the same, they might be big team on paper but anything is achievable. There are no more minnows.

“So yeah I think we have what it takes to win this game,” he said.

The 26-year-old has vowed to give his all if selected to play.

“You know every player’s dream is to succeed with the national team.

“I hope to bring my club form to the national team If I’m given a chance to play. I just want to do the best for my country and would want us to qualify for AFCON again, “he said.
