Winky D’s song Chandelier off his latest offering ‘Njema’ has broken into the top five of the United Kingdom’s biggest radio station, BBC Radio 1xtra’s Afrobeats.

Speaking to H-Metro, Winky D’s manager Jonathan Banda said he is happy with the consistency the Gaffa is showing.

“This is not the first time Winky’s song has appeared on DJ Edu’s top 5 on BBC 1xtra there are tracks like Mugarden and Disappear to mention a few that were also there.

“So this shows consistency from the artiste and we are very happy to be played on such radio stations as it shows that more people are appreciating our works,” said Banda.

Banda added that penetrating the international market is the greatest award.

“Being recognised world wide is the greatest award and being played on the station shows that we are moving in the right direction.

“It is something that we are proud of and it puts us as a country where people would be more interested in listening to our projects

“ Lastly, l want to thank all those who supports Winky D and the Vigilance Band from day one, l say continue unlocking all those chains,” added Banda.

The track was produced by Winky D’s younger brother Layaan and South Africa based young producer Nikki.
