CHICKEN Inn say Joey Antipas is not available for the Warriors assistant coach job unless Zifa engages them for ‘terms and conditions’

Zifa announced Antipas as the first assistant to new coach Zdravko Logarusic without the club’s knowledge.

And yesterday, the Gamecocks maintained Antipas is not part of the Zimbabwe football national team technical staff, in as far they are concerned.

Spokesperson Tavengwa Hara said Zifa should come forth and see if they can reach an agreement on how Antipas will work.

“First we are going to meet with our coach to discuss about this news and as for ZIFA they need to communicate with us formally because we were never notified about this.

“It was very unprofessional of them so we as Chicken do not need to approach them, they are the ones who are supposed to communicate with us then we will discuss our terms and conditions.

“We also want to give them our terms that’s if Joey Antipas agrees to be an interim assistant manager or permanent basis.

“It’s not the first time ZIFA has done this without notifying us first so this time around we are not going to tolerate all that.

“They should meet with us and then we will discuss a way forward so we are yet to hear from them but if they don’t communicate with us I’m afraid we cannot allow our gaffer to work on Warriors duty,” he said.

Chicken Inn have made their title intentions clear and do not want their coach to have divided attention.

H-Metro understand Chicken Inn are not ready to gamble with their title hopes for an assistant coach role.

The club was only willing to release him if he had landed the top job.

“At least if we talk to them and see if the conditions do not affect us as a club. We have our targets as a club and we should be approached and they hear if we are comfortable,” he said.

Zifa spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela was not forthcoming when contacted for comment.
