Tanya Muzinda honoured

Motocross rider Tanya Muzinda has been nominated and invited to receive a Global Impact Award for Sporting Excellency by the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards.

This year’s Awards are the 10th Anniversary Celebrations and will be held for the first time in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls.

“I am delighted to have been nominated and invited to receive a Global Impact Award for Sporting Excellency by the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards.

“I will be conferred with an Honorary Global Impact Award for Sporting Excellency and Community Building,” she said.

The award was in recognition in her career as the first female to win a motocross champion and the positive impact she has in other children’s life.

“In their letter the ZAA pointed that this award was in recognition of my career as a Champion Motocross athlete and positive impact upon generations and communities through my inspirational story as the first female to win a championship in Independent Zimbabwe.

“ZAA also commended with pride my achievements and philanthropic work at a tender age and pointed that l have become the face of an entire generation and global icon in my own right most notable as European Union to Zimbabwe Honorary Ambassador for Youth, Sports, Gender and Development among other recognitions.”

The 15 year old star has dedicated the award to all the girls going through a tough time.

“This is a special award and l want to dedicate it to all the little girls going through difficult and trying times working hard to make their dreams and aspirations come to life under extreme and difficulty conditions in Zimbabwe, Africa and the World.

“I promise them that we should not give up, vultures are waiting for girls to die and feast on us that should never happen, “she said.

The awards have been previously they have been held in South Africa, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and the United States.
