Government honours Anne Nhira

THE family of actress Anne Nhira has hailed the Government’s move to assist with funeral expenses.

 

The announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Tino Machaikaire, who was accompanied by Zanu-PF National Youth leader Tendai Chirau and his team.

Speaking during the announcement, Chirau said:

 

“There is nothing more painful than losing young people. We should be the ones burying the old, it’s painful to see the old burying the young.

 

“The way she died is painful and she knew about the arts value and she deserved this honour,it was not a mistake.

 

“It’s a loss to the nation. She was a role model to many people and we want to thank the Ministry of Youth and the Government for honouring her.”

 

Family spokesperson, Florence Ziyambi, also hailed the Government’s honour.

“We would like to thank President Mnangagwa for this honour and our family if thankful for this and as family we feel she also deserved it, so we are not surprised.

 

“We want to thank you because she may deserve it, but not accorded the honour.

 

“The family is happy,” she said.

 

Deputy Minister Machakaire urged the family to approach them if they need any form of assistance.

 

“Everything was approved by Government and we are now one family, feel free to come to us, even if you have anything you want.

“We came here as a Ministry, we recently lost Soul Jah Love and we are pained, we want to thank President Mnangagwa for this honour.

 

“We have been robbed of our flower, there is nothing we can do as human beings, this has been planned by God.

 

“Anne did well in this country,” added Machakaire.
