POLICE officers on Monday held a church service in Chitungwiza at Sergeant Julian Chirinhe’s homestead in honour of their workmate who was shot dead by her husband on Sunday.

Led by a police Chaplain Superintendent Munyaradzi Tundu, police officers drawn from St Mary’s, Zengeza, Chitungwiza and Dema police stations made supplications and sang spiritual hymns expressing their sorrow at the death of Sgt Chirinhe.

Supt Tundu and his team shared messages of hope quoting scriptures from the Biblical book of Job urging people to remain rooted in the word of life and putting their faith in God.

“As we mourn our departed daughter and police officer, let us not be on the judgment seat but in everything let us speak wisely, let us advise wisely, let us comfort wisely and thank God for the life lived by Juliana,” said Supt Tundu.

The service gave life to the grieving and a number of female police officers comforted each other by showcasing their dancing antics bidding farewell to their workmate.

They sang “Tipeiwo nguva yekuchema gamba redu” in honour of their comrade.
