Apex Council Youth in Agriculture National Chairperson John Muchenje celebrated his birthday and Christmas with the elderly at Chirumhanzu’s Old People’s Home as a way of giving back to the community.
The Midlands based farmer put smiles on the faces of the elderly who enjoyed the day like the was no tomorrow.
“Christmas day is mostly saturated by braai’s and parties as people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ so I have seen it fit to give a smile and enjoy lunch with elderly people as I also celebrate my belated birthday.
“As a Christian, I believe in giving and I urge all youths to share with most disadvantaged people in all areas and preach peace always and follow Covid-19 regulations as stipulated by our Government,” said Muchenje.
Last year Muchenje celebrated the birthday with orphans in Epworth and this year decided to bless it with his rural area’s elderly people and orphans.
The function was attended by local leadership and authorities including the Councillor for the ward.
