MORE than 150 children at Vision for Christ Centre in Goromonzi had an early Christmas celebration hosted for them by a retired reverend on December 22.
Founded by retired Reverend Raymond David Chinamora, who turned 83 on Wednesday, the centre is now being run by his daughter Rebecca Chinamora, who is based in the United States of America.

The managing director Gwendolyn Chinamora said the lunch was part of their celebrations as they prayed for peace and unity in families.

“I would like to thank Rebecca for the goodies she bought for the children, but our main aim was to find an opportunity to unite the children while celebrating Unity Day,” said Chinamora.

“Catching them young is best in shaping their future since they are the leaders of tomorrow.

“Children’s receiving capacity is bigger than adults’ hence the need to encourage them to pray, play and share things together to develop a spirit of togetherness.

“Tinevana vanoshayiwa dzidziso yakakwana nekuda kwemhirizhonga mudzimba, saka nhasi tinovapa mukana wekutamba nekudya pamwechete. Tikaona asiri kufara towana mukana wekutaura naye tichimubatsira,” she said.

The children were from four villages around Goromonzi district.
