KADOMA based film-maker Steven Musowe has embarked on a mission to reach out to untapped talented actors and actresses in Sanyati.

Musowe said his journey started around 2001 and he is prepared to groom untapped talent in marginalised areas.

“I am much into scouting unidentified talent because some people are good but are left out because of the places they come from.

“So I thought it will be good to bring them to limelight,” said Musowe.

Musowe believes not only Harare can propel people to greater heights.

“I don’t believe Harare is the only place to excel because we have done Fidelis series that dominated local screens.

“It was actually done in Gweru and it stole hearts of many drama lovers where we introduced characters like Siyoyo Zondi Chenai.”

Musowe’s journey has seen him working with prolific producer and director Dorothy Chidzawo.

“I did five dramas with ZBC in 2001, I produced Kurauone, followed by Zvinengozi in 2002, Shamiso 2003, Nzungumuriva 2 in 2004 and Zibhodho in 2008.

“I did all these dramas working with Dorothy Chidzawo.

The veteran producer said, they have set up their own studio in Kadoma.

“We have our own studio here in Kadoma and very soon we will spreading to Chinhoyi, Karoi, Gokwe and  where we are identifying raw talent.”

The producer said he became his own man in 2009.

“I started producing on my own in 2009 when I Fidelis Series with 22 episodes.

“I also recorded Disapora, Muchabaiwa, Makunakuna, The Game and the current one Chikomo Chemhungu.

“Chikomo Chemhungu was recorded in Sanyati where i worked with the village head Davie Mudzingwa, and Ephraim Mudzingwa who helped in motivating the actors,” he added.

Apart from dramas, Musowe is am entrepreneur who is into African dishes and is setting up a restaurant which will employ more 10 people in the community,” he added.
