Public Service Commission has appointed Dr Gibson Mhlanga as the acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care following the recent re-assignment of Dr Agnes Mahomva to the post of Chief Coordinator National Response to Covid-19 in the office of the President and Cabinet.
Dr Mhlanga was the Chief Director for Preventive Services in the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
“In the light of the recent re-assignment of Dr Mahomva to the post of Chief Coordinator National Response to Covid-19 in the office of the President and Cabinet, the Public Service Commission appointed Dr Mhlanga as the acting Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care,” read part of the statement.
His appointment according to the statement will remain in force until a substantive Permanent Secretary is in post.
And as of yesterday afternoon, the country had recorded 44 cases including 17 recoveries and 4 deaths.
