MINISTRY of Health and Child Care says they are contact tracing all the passengers that boarded Fly Emirates which was carrying a Zambian couple that recently tested positive for Covid-19.
Zambia, on Wednesday, confirmed two cases of a husband-and-wife who tested positive for the disease after returning from a holiday in France.
This pair’s case has raised many concerns on social media platforms since the flight came from Dubai then Zambia and lastly Zimbabwe.
Speaking to H-Metro, Director Environmental Health Services in the Ministry of Health and Child Care Dr Victor Nyamandi said the response team is doing whatever they can to ensure that all the people that were aboard the flight are screened.
“So we already have contact details for all the other passengers from Dubai who were coming to Zimbabwe because naturally as of our prescribed actions we have to follow up people who have passed through countries affected and Dubai is one of them.
“But as for the ones that came from Zambia, we will be going to Fly Emirates today (yesterday) so that they give us their details for follow ups.
“We are also visiting Meikles hotel, where the pilots slept to disinfect the rooms,” he said.
