HARARE Mayor Councillor Herbert Gomba has directed an audit into all council allocated residential stands to establish whether environmental assessments were conducted before allocation.

This was posted on Harare City council Facebook page where Mayor Gomba said Town clerk engineer Hosiah Chisango was tasked to spearhead the investigations.

“We want to ensure that the law is being practised whereby people are supposed to build house or structures at fully assessed places.

“We have been receiving numerous complaints over some allocation of some residential lands.

“Our team is going to make sure that all issued lands are assessed by our team,” said Mayor.

He added that it was time they put all speculation at rest and investigate the issue so as to ensure that people build their homes at secure lands.
