Government has revised prices for roller meal from $50 to $70 per 10 kilograms.
The development comes as grain millers have been withholding roller meal milled from imported maize citing high production costs incurred.
Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe chairman Tafadzwa Musarara yesterday, during a press conference, had said millers were withholding roller meal because of high costs involved to come up with the final product.
“Mealie meal is available but the stock is limited and we cannot sell it yet; we are waiting for the new subsidised prices from government.

“The country is now importing maize from South Africa so as to reduce the current shortages of mealie meal.
“Grain marketing board GMB does not have enough to supply the country.
“We are experiencing serious delays on the boarder on the South African side whereby the grain has to be delayed for three days,” he said.
He said the demand for mealie meal had gone up largely on account of the ever increasing prices of other starch products like bread and rice.
