DYNAMOS coach Tonderai Ndiraya says they will invite the survivors of the June 2016 accident to attend their training session.
Ndiraya said this yesterday at an event that was organised by the club through their supporters chapters countrywide to donate to the deceased’ families.
Nine fans perished on their way to Gweru, Ascot for a date against Chapungu.
“We are going to invite the survivors of that horror accident to come to our training session.
“The players have to know how important these people are to the institution.
“We have communicated with the people who were involved in this accident and I think it’s a good cause for both the players and the survivors to meet. The players will know how others out there would do for the club,” said Ndiraya.
Ndiraya said playing in an empty stadium without supporters is torture.
He said it is their fan base that makes them want to do better.
“Firstly we value all our supporters and you know its sad that some of our supporters met their fate in this way which was very unfortunate.
“I think that’s the reason why we really have to sit down with our players from our end and educate them on the importance of the 12 men.
“In our institution Dynamos is nothing without the fans. I can’t imagine playing a match without our fans in the stands it does not mean anything to us as a team,” he said.
“The supporters are a very important stakeholder for our team. We always cherish the moments we have together, the fact that some of these guys lost their lives on their way to support their beloved team in Gweru it really means a lot and I think we heard some touching testimonies here.
“The people who were involved ,the survivors, i saw one of them in a wheelchair, very touching indeed and its something which we are really taking up to the players and I am sure its really going to show them how important it is to play for these guys mostly, It was a very emotional occasion,” Ndiraya said.
