ZESCO United and Warriors midfielder Thabani ‘Scara’ Kamusoko says he is hoping to be fit for national duty.
Warriors play Algeria in a back to back AFCON qualifiers match in March.
Kamusoko is doing some physio therapy at the moment after an ankle injury.
“Right now I’m working on strengthening my ankle and doing some physio therapy.
“I’m looking forward to a national team call up if I’m fully fit.
“I’m hoping to be fully fit soon and be ready for the Algeria encounter,” he said.
The former Young Africans says they need to make sure that they capitalize their home advantage points by winning games at home.
“Our game against Algeria will be a tough game considering that they won the previous Afcon and that’s what is motivating them.
“The draw is okay and making sure we win home games because we will be having home advantage, it’s better to collect maximum points at home because when you are away it’s difficult.
“We just want our fans to rally behind us when we play at home.
“We need to make sure that we win these games, we want to qualify again and maybe this time do better than what we did last edition,”he said.
He added:
“But it’s a game that when you get clear chances you make them count.
“As a player I will just have to offer what I have been offering every time when given a chance to play
“Right now we have a clear chance of qualifying because we are on four points and we just have to collect at least a point from each game against Algeria if we fail to win.
“I’m hopeful that we qualify even if you look at the current crop of players that we have they are doing well from their respective clubs.
“They are also committed to the nation and they play for each other.”
