FORMER Chicken Inn right back Phakamani Dube has joined ZPC Kariba on a one-year contract, H-Metro has learnt.

Dube joined Chicken Inn on a two year deal last season from DeMbare.

He is believed to have terminated his contract with Chicken Inn amid claims he wanted his wages revised.

“Dube has joined Kariba. He put pen to paper today.

“He traveled to Kariba over the weekend and did his first training with the team today.

“He wanted Chicken Inn to better his contract but they did not agree, Kariba later opted for a better deal for him.

“He is expecting his clearance from Chicken Inn, it was not a loan deal, the contract is being terminated on mutual grounds,” said the source close to the player.

Chicken Inn have brought in right back Ian Nekati, and they have been rumors he is running away from competition.

Chicken Inn are left with Nekati and Passmore Bernard for the right back position.

Dube comes as a direct replacement for Nekati who left Kariba.

“The player did well last season and earned himself the first jersey, it was not about competition.

“He is looking for better wages, otherwise all teams have competition,” added the source.

ZPC Kariba are on a rebuilding exercise that saw them losing most of their key players for the 2019 season.

They have brought in Johannes Sibanda, Tapiwa Chilenga amongst their new signings.
