Experienced bowler Chris Mpofu is delighted at being included in the Zimbabwe squad now in Bangladesh for a Test match, three one day internationals and two T20’s.
In an interview with H-Metro Mpofu said:
“I’m really happy to be called in the national side. I last played a test match three years ago against South Africa“ he said.
Mpofu is confident with the upcoming tour and he believes that he is going to deliver
“I believe in myself, I have been playing Logan Cup and Pro50 so I’m ready for the tour.
“We have been playing Logan Cup and Pro50 – it was a platform for us to prepare“ he said.
The talented bowler said he was hopeful for a call but was surprised at being included in the test squad.
“I was anticipating a call but not for test cricket“ Mpofu said
Mpofu believes that Zimbabwe will win some matches after the Sri Lanka series.
“I was not part of the Sri Lanka series but I believe my teammates have learnt a lot and I believe we are going to win.
“That national badge means a lot to me and I’m going to put 110% effort to win “ he said
