President Mnangagwa’s local engagement and re-engagement drive has gone a long way in bringing to the fore issues of national interest while seeking to bring healing, understanding and even active participation by stakeholders where this was not necessarily the case in the previous dispensation.
He has sought to focus not only on the international community but has been proactive in engaging and initiating dialogue with various stakeholders in the country.
His efforts have seen him engage religious leaders who represent the majority of people in Zimbabwe and, as such, their voices have been heard and respected on matters of national interest.
In turn, the leaders have expressed confidence and thrown their weight behind him as the country can only be built by a united force.
Church leaders have backed President Mnangagwa as capable of transforming Zimbabwe into a prosperous nation as he continues to seek and implement the necessary reforms.

His broad-based engagement drive has seen him meet traditional chiefs to get their views on issues of governance as he continues to seek lasting solutions and guide the country on a recovery path.
His engagement efforts with leaders in society has seen the fulfilment of his message that he is a “listening President”.
He has sought to engage traditional leaders in Matabeleland regarding the exhumation of Gukurahundi victims, helping their families with identity documents, a strategy that should bring the sad chapter to rest. The signs are positive.
All this is being carried out in a spirit of openness and commitment to fast track the process and unite the country.
Traditional leaders have been afforded a chance to voice challenges faced in their respective areas in an effort to find solutions and make
better the general citizenry’s livelihoods.
President Mnangagwa’s drive to engage all stakeholders has seen the ushering in of political reforms through the historic Political Actors Dialogue (Polad), a platform that seeks to initiate dialogue between all political parties to find solutions and share ideas on governance systems for a better Zimbabwe. This has gone on to serve his reiteration that there is power in unity.
Polad has been established to initiate discussions that put focus on political and economic issues which will have a postive impact on people’s livelihoods.
The strategy has ensured focus on boosting productivity across all sectors of the economy, creating decent jobs, empowering citizens and providing safety nets for the vulnerable population in society.
Furthermore, President Mnangagwa has ushered in the clean-up campaign on the first Friday of every month in his efforts to engage the general populace and by so doing listening to their concerns while also putting emphasis on the need for a clean environment.
He has stressed the need for Zimbabweans to strive to leave a legacy of cleanliness to the next generations by ensuring that their environments are well kept, serving as a reminder that the environment is an important part of our lives as much as the economy is.

These efforts have and will continue to benefit the country as stakeholders are afforded a chance to be primarily involved in a process that will see the implementation of effective solutions and reforms on all fronts.
A spirit of unity and peace is fostered by such type of engagements and gives hope for a better Zimbabwe, built by its own people to see the attainment of Vision 2030.
President Mnangagwa has not only seen the importance of engaging the international community but is also aware of the need to touch base with the ordinary citizens to have a better appreciation of their concerns and the challenges they are facing.
This will help to prescribe the right solutions to the country’s challenges.
Stakeholders have a crucial role to play in the revival of the country’s economy and the New Dispensation has not shied away from this fact which will best serve the country’s interests.
Zimbabwe has the wherewithal to overcome most of its challenges and unity of purpose is an important ingredient in this discourse.
