The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) could have lost up to $1,2 million in unnecessary rentals paid over the past six months after its authorities reportedly procrastinated on the movement of obsolete reading materials.
ZOU last year gave its lessor, Old Mutual, notice to vacate the warehouse at the corner of Birmingham and Barrow roads in Southerton by September 30, 2020, but failed to do so reportedly because of administrative delays.
Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Gundani yesterday confirmed the presence of the materials at the warehouse.
“We will dispose of the few modules that remain so we are just waiting to follow the disposal regulations. “We are moving all our stuff by the end of this month,” said Prof Gundani.
