A LEADER with the Apostle of Prayer of Unit in Christ Church was on Wednesday dragged to court for allegedly raping a congregant at a prayer mountain in Glen View 1.
The suspect, Samuel Guta (45), was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova.
Allegations are that Guta and the complainant were at a prayer mountain in a tent between Riverside and Churu Farm in Glen View 1 after he had phoned her advising her to bring lemons to the prayer mountain so that he could pray for her minor child.
The complainant reportedly did so and Guta prayed holding the lemon and later told her to squeeze the lemon on her hands, feet and nipples and she complied.
The complainant alleges that when he started praying for her, she doesn’t know what happened, but she only regained consciousness lying down facing upwards without her underwear and Guta was raping her.
Devoted Nyagano and Shephard Makonde appeared for the State.
