A Finance Director with a leading financial holdings company, Fanuel Kapanje’s row with his former lover Esther Chitimbe has spilled into the courts.

The two have a seven-year-old daughter together.

Details emerged yesterday before Harare magistrate Meenal Narotum, who postponed the matter to next Monday after Kapanje’s lawyer asked for time claiming he had just assumed agency.

“With the court’s indulgence I would like to seek a postponement to a later date because I have just assumed agency of the matter,” said Blessing Mutiro of Rubaya and Chatambudza legal practitioners.

According to the papers, Kapanje obtained an interim ex parte peace order on May 22 after his baby mama caused a scene at their Belgravia Head offices.

The financial director further accuses Chitimbe of using illegal and violent words to harass him at his workplace where she claimed he was failing to support their minor child.

However, Chitimbe claims in her notice of opposition that Kapanje last contributed towards the child in March (before the lockdown started).

“He is seeking to evade responsibility by alleging that I am perpetrating all forms of violence against him which is pure malice.

“He last contributed towards our child in March,” argued Chitimbe.

Chitimbe also claims Kapanje has blocked all forms of communicating with her and has never reported her to police further disregarding the claims of her violent nurture.

“When I went to his workplace I wanted to understand how he wanted to support since he had blocked communication with me.

“I even asked to see the CEO who later tried to ask him to agree terms with me but he hasn’t come forth,” she claimed.

Chitimbe’s child is yet to approach the Maintenance Court for a favorable outcome.
