OLD MUTUAL, in partnership with DSTV, recently launched a talent search programme dubbed Amazing Voices at Ster Kinekor Cinema in Borrowdale.

Amazing Voices is a Pan African singing reality show in partnership with DSTV.
Twelve unsigned groups from four African countries will take to the stage to entertain audiences and judges for the USD$100K prize money.
So it’s a quest for Zimbabwe to be crowned Africa’s amazing voices to bring the money home after battling with three other countries.
This show also paves way for Zimbabwe to engage with different talents across Africa, with Old Mutual as the anchor sponsor.
The event was hosted by one of Zimbabwe’s best radio sensation MisRed who gave welcoming remarks and introduced Lillian Mubaiwa, the DSTV representative on stage.
Mubaiwa credited DSTV for its support.

Other notable figures in the showbiz sector, which include Ammara Brown, Selmor Mtukudzi, Takura, Thembalami and Janet Manyowa graced the event.
In an interview with H-Metro, MisRed said Amazing Voices is a show that will put Zimbabwe on another level after being given such a great opportunity which is not to be wasted.
“It’s a needed opportunity for music in Zimbabwe.
“I think we haven’t had a chance with the entertainment industry, so Old Mutual has done something amazing because chances like these don’t usually come so it’s important for the growth of music in Zimbabwe,” said MisRed.
In another interview, Ammara Brown said:
“It’s going to showcase Zimbabwe’s ability to nurture its upcoming talents.”
The event also saw audiences being shown Amazing Voices’ yet to come programmes with different Zimbabwe personalities like Selmor Mtukudzi, Takura among others taking the role of judges on music contestants.
Zim Hip Hop artiste Takura Shonhai who was among the judges was humbled by the honour.
“This was my second time being a judge but this time it was on a larger platform, it was really an experience.
“Truly I’m just wishing and praying that Zimbabwe brings the money home.

“After all we have a lot of talent in our country.
“It is going to be a long process though since Selmor has this kind heart. I mean she just keeps on saying yes to every contestant,” he added, laughing.
Selmor on the other hand expressed how much she was happy for herself at the same time.
“I’m very happy and excited that our country is being recognised with a great movement like this one. I also hope we bring the money home.
“I’m also happy that I’m getting endless exposure and embarking on meaningful adventures at the same time,” she said.
