ZIMBABWEAN defender is excited after making his debut for his new club Ayeyawady United in the Myanmar National League on Saturday.

United played to a 0-0 draw against Magwe in the first match of the season with Kamhuka describing the 12-team league as competitive.

“It’s a great feeling that you join a team and get the run on your first match. It was a good experience and I am excited with everything here.

“I am also impressed by the level of competition in the league. You can see by the tension and the hype the matches get. The football landscape has changed and the level of competition here in Asia is growing and that is something I was looking forward to when I switched from India,” Kamhuka told H-Metro from his new base.

The former Dynamos player is convinced his move from India is worth it just after Match Day One.

He said his team – which once played in the Asian Champions League – will give him more exposure and play against some of the world’s best footballers who are joining the great trek to China and other Asian leagues.

“There are several aspects that you consider when making a move and I am convinced I made the best move with just this one match.

“Like I said before, this team will give me a platform to play at top level. This team regularly participates in the Champions League (Asia) where a number of top players now play,” he said.

Kamhuka is looking forward to help his team achieve more in the 2020 season.

“I am winner and I will always work hard to help the team. I want to help the team achieve more as well as other prospects to grow my career. I feel I still have more years to play,” he said.
