Chicken Inn, who are on a mission to build a competitive side, have reportedly the race to sign striker Evans Katema.

The Gamecocks wanted the dreadlocked striker last season to replace Clive Augusto, who left for Maritsburg United, but were beaten to his signature by Dynamos.

Chicken Inn join CAPS United and numerous foreign clubs in the race for Katema’s services.

Katema joined Dynamos midseason last year, for two years, from Mushowani and put up a good performance scoring crucial goals.

For his exploits he made it on the calendar and has been amongst the most wanted stars this transfer windows.

“Chicken Inn have offered Katema a lucrative offer. They are trying to outbid Dynamos and all the other candidates.

“They have interest from the players from last year and they are still looking for Augusto’s replacement,” said a source.

Meanwhile, Chicken Inn have signed Paddy Nyamakura from Yadah.

“Paddy is now a done deal. The Chicken Inn representatives had to come to Harare for his signature.

“The player had other offers but Chicken Inn offered a good deal. They are at an advanced stage with their talks,” revealed the source close to the player.

The Gamecocks have so far signed Clive Dzingai, Nomore Chinyerere from relegated Mushowani Stars and Hwange respectively together with Brian Giant from Mosi Rovers.
