Amos said their departed dad played an important role in his career along with siblings Akim, Misheck and Minister Michael Mahendere.

“Our dad was the first person to teach us music as he helped us to get our first guitar which was a box guitar.

“He taught us to sing as well as composing song which we went on to excel years later.

“Music wise, my dad remains our source of inspiration that we will cherish for years to come.”

Minister Mahendere has since left the family band to become his own man.

However, he still works with the original Mahendere Brothers on special occasion.

The year 2021 has started on a bad note for some musicians who lost their parents who played key roles in his career.

Hard working rapper King 98 who has collaborated with the continents finest lost his father Thompson Dondo on January 2.

Dondo was the Group CEO for Impala Car Rental among other business interests.

During the same week, rapper Desmond “Stunner” Chideme lost his mother Elizabeth Rose Chideme who died after s short illness.

Gogo Chideme was buried Monday in Mhondera.

The same applies to music promoter and prophet Passion Java who lost his mother Christine Rambanapasi.

Senator Rambanapasi was a senator at the time of his death.

To many, 2021 has started on a bad patch as we lost high profile figures.

With year 2020 equally bad, many had wished for the best in 2021 where another lockdown has been imposed while it is still in its infancy.
