Afro soul musician, Ken Wamambo-real name Kennedy Ndambakuwa-says gaining recognition in music is not easy and artistes should never give up.

Wamambo was speaking about his tough journey in music and urged artistes to have a spirit of perseverance even when things are down.

“The journey to gain recognition wasn’t easy for me and it never is.

“I have not made it nor have I reached the heights I desire but one thing for sure is I’m slowly penetrating into the elite music main stream.

“Having realised how hard the journey I looked for alternatives which included performing at parties and weddings that which bridged me to another level.

“I just urge artistes to push until something good happens, ” said Wamambo.

He also revealed he is continuously working on new music and learning new instruments to improve and become a better artiste.

“Apart from playing the guitar I have started learning other instruments like the piano, mbira among others.

“My aim with music is to preach love and teach love.

“I’m currently working on new music and my next project is with Shotey Entertainment,” he said.

He added:

“My dream is to share the stage with jazz maestro Tanga Wekwa Sando one day.”

Wamambo has an Extended Play (EP) titled “Songs of Solomon” to his name.
