Producers fight drug abuse

Two South Africa based music producers have united in fighting drug abuse by supporting upcoming artistes in the sub-region.

The duo of Junior “Vegga” Machakaire of Dusty Road Records and Iton of Iton Music are working on a riddim called Dusty Road Riddim which has already featured artistes from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Malawi participating.

In an interview with, Vegga he said:


“Our main goal is to empower unknown artistes to give them the platform of making good music and make a living from music.

“We also intend to give them something to do rather than to sit at home engaging in drugs and other

“At this moment we are recording our first project, Dusty Road Riddim which is produced by Iton which already featured dancehall guys in the industry from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Malawi.

“We have also unknown artists that we think are going to be the main characters after this riddim is officially launched.”

Added Vegga:

“We are also working with Iton, the one behind the one behind Makarova Gunnes by Killer T and Mutoro by Ras Caleb and at Dusty Road Records so far we have signed three artistes that are talented and still unknown in the industry Sprinterman, Patwink and Fide B.

“Our record labels do all genres of music based in South Africa, Silverton in Pretoria and was founded by Junior Cleopas Machakaire(VEGGA) from Mabvuku, Harare Zimbabwe in 2019.”
