HARARE City forward Emmanuel Mandiranga says besides being a professional football he is also into mechanics.
Mandiranga, who runs a garage together with his father, told H-Metro yesterday that he has been utilising the lockdown period to do the trade.
“I used to accompany my dad to his work place, that’s where the love of mechanics developed.
“I started mechanics way back and I have an advantage of my father who is also a mechanic and also my inspiration so it was easier for me to persue. I co-own the garage. Whenever I have spare time I will be dealing with cars.

“Our garage specialise on Germany cars.
“The reason why I ventured into mechanics is that football is a short time career, it can end anytime due to injuries or other things. I imagined my life after football and noticed that many footballers struggle when their career end so I better have a backup and I’m able to sustain myself without football. I’m benefiting a lot in terms of knowledge and experience.”
Asked on the challenges he is facing in balancing the two, Mandiranga said he only struggle when the football season starts.
“The challenge I face in balancing mechanics and football is only that when football season starts I will be focusing more on football as I won’t be having time to attend mechanics.”
On his plan with football, the former Dynamos player said he is aiming for a better season,

“I got signed to a new club and my plans include winning something with them, score more goals, get national duty call ups and if an opportunity comes to play abroad. I strongly believe that with Harare City I can.” said Mandiranga.
