What’s up this weekend . . .

Andrew Moyo

With Friday being a holiday, the weekend started early with many nightspots enjoying brisk business Thursday night.

More so, joints that already have interesting Thursday concepts, like Club Connect’s Jameson Session, were packed to the brim.

The party continues Friday with some events even starting in the afternoon and the merrymaking is set to continue throughout the weekend.

Queen of Rock at Reps Theatre

This show is a special tribute to Tina Turner performed by the amazing Sam Tirivacho.

Tirivacho moved to South Africa to pursue her career as a performer working for the Barnyard Theatres and has done a lot of stage and theatre productions in Zimbabwe, Spain and Dubai.

Her voice extends so much diversity and she can sing in various genre including pop, rock, soul, blues and jazz with equal brilliance.

She has performed the Tina Turner Experience in Spain and as a guest artist for the Royal Caribbean Cruises touring across European seas.

Agga Nyabinde in concert

Agga Nyabinde shares the stage with his father, Bob, at Front Page Night Spot in Highfield.

While this is not a rare sight as the two have performed together in the past, it is still exciting to see this father-and-son duo in action.

With the older Nyabinde being the more prominent artiste, Agga has managed to carve his own path in the industry, proving to be a capable artiste in his own right.

The event will be aired live on Star FM and will also be streamed on the radio station’s Facebook page as well as Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN).

“Having the event live on radio and streaming platforms came about in the interest of taking the awards to the people,” said Comfort Mbofana, Zimpapers Radio Division General Manager.
