TITLE hopefuls Chicken Inn have won the race to sign ZPC Kariba defender Ian Nekati, who seemed headed for Harare City.
While popular giants, Dynamos had also been part of the equation, Nekati has since decided on Chicken Inn who had a better deal than Harare City.
“I have joined Chicken Inn on a two-year deal. I am delighted with the move and look forward to the challenge,” Nekati told H-Metro.
A source close to the deal said Nekati opted for the Gamecocks after weighing the deals.
“Decision was now down to two clubs and on Wednesday he met representatives from both Harare City and Chicken Inn. After weighing the offers, Nekati settled for Chicken Inn and that is where he is headed.
“This level of interest from top clubs shows how impressive the defender was last season.”
Nekati was a free agent following the expiry of his two-year contract with ZPC Kariba.
Last season, Nekati had a number of commanding performances that saw him being named amongst the Castle Premier Soccer League Soccer Star of the Year finalists.
He also earned a place among the Warriors.
