SOCCER Star of the year first-runner up, Ralph Kawondera, is on Absa Premiership clubs’ radar with a possible move set for this June, H-Metro can reveal.

However, for now, the player is joining FC Platinum as exclusively revealed by this publication last week.

The former Triangle skipper is expected to complete his move to Mandava early next week – where he will play until June.

Maritzburg United and Baroka are reported to be pursuing the player since the move cannot be sealed this January.

The clubs’ representatives have been in touch with the player with those coming up with the best offer expected to win his signature.

The development will likely affect the duration of his contract with FC Platinum with indications that he will sign for a short stint.

Kawondera confirmed the interests from South Africa but said his focus is on the domestic front, where he needs to keep his pursuers convinced.

“Yes there are interests from Absa Premiership but we cannot discuss that for now. For now, I am focusing on what is on the ground.

“As player you don’t need to focus much is at hand for you to achieve better, anything that comes after should be as a result of hard work from what you are currently doing,” said Kawondera.

While he could not divulge what awaits him locally, H-Metro is reliably informed the player is sealing his move to FC Platinum on Monday.

“Kawondera signed a pre-contract with FC Platinum and they have agreed terms now. The new coach (de Jongh) is also interested in the player,” revealed the source.

Kawondera will join the likes of Stanely Ngala, Nomore Chinyerere and James Gwara who have already joined the defending champions.

Kawondera, however, cannot play in the CAF Champions League for the Zvishavane miners since he played for Triangle in the Confederation Cup last year when the current competitions started from the preliminary round.
