Bosso to raid Chiefs?

Chioniso Mashakada, Sports Reporter

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders are reported to be negotiating with Bulawayo Chiefs coach Thulani Sibanda for a possible move to assist new coach Mark Mathe.

Bosso are also said to be pursuing their neighbours’ trio of defenders Brendon Mpofu and Malvin Mkolo and goalkeeper David Bizabani.

And contacted to comment over the issue, Sibanda did not dismiss the story but said they are still rumours.

“There is nothing tangible yet. The deal is yet to be confirmed, of course there’s an element of truth but we haven’t sat down.”

Sibanda’s contract with Chiefs expired at the end of last year and negotiations for a renewal are also underway.

“Currently I’m out of contract but we are in negotiations to extend. I’m still to get deep into analysis but obviously Highlanders is a big club which every coach wants to be associated with but until up something really materialises then I will comment on the issue,” he said.

And on Chiefs players on Bosso radar, he said:

“Yes I’m aware of that issue, those three were also reported to be leaving Chiefs but it’s still something that is more in the papers than between the two clubs. I can say it’s something that has more to do with press than the real issue. The two clubs haven’t sat down to discuss this issue.”
